Welfare of Children and Youth Association (WCYA) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote child rights, youth empowerment, and community development. We are a community-based organization, operating in both rural and urban communities in Ghana. We work in 10 Regions with 170 Associations including 513 Grassroot groups, 12,825 Members; comprising of 5,795 males and 7,030 females (58% children and 42% Young People)

The organization is one of the active and experienced grassroot group association of children, youth, and parents working together to stand for their rights and to develop their community. We believe everyone deserves to get their rights fulfilled, have a better life and create change for themselves, their families and communities. WCYA plays a catalyst role for that change.

The organization’s aim is to develop the capacity of young leaders at the grassroot level, to lead the grassroots groups and its members for the implementation of activities that addressees the difficulties faced by children and youth in their various communities. We organize trainings and capacity building workshops to empower members on issues such as migration, gender based violence, referrals of trafficked victims, hygiene, early marriage, and disease prevention through our projects and initiatives.
